Miguel is the CEO at Hemera Capital Partners, an asset management and investment banking firm focused on southern African markets.

Among other roles, Miguel spent many years of his professional life as at KPMG Corporate Finance & KPMG Restructuring in Lisbon and in London, where he became an associate director. He was later head of Private Equity at Banif Investment Banking and after a junior partner at TIIC, an international private equity fund focused on infrastructure, with a geographical investment focus in Europe and the Americas.

More recently, Miguel held several senior roles in the Angolan market, first as Head of Investment Banking at Banco Millennium Atlântico, a leading financial institution in Angola and Africa, and later as the founder, CEO and shareholder of the first Angolan asset management firm incorporated under the country’s new legal framework: Odell Global Investors.

Miguel holds a Post-graduate Diploma in Global Business (with distinction) from the Said Business School – University of Oxford (United Kingdom), a Masters in Finance from ISCTE Business School (Portugal) and a Bachelor Degree in Management from ISEG – University of Lisbon (Portugal). He has also completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Wharton Business School – University of Pennsylvania (USA).

Miguel is fluent in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish.
